Wild Ferns® Rotorua Mud

The thermal mud used in all our Wild Ferns® Rotorua Mud skincare products is firstly obtained from the hot mud pools in Rotorua. The mud is sterilised, then refined to remove any foreign matter such as volcanic ash residue, while ensuring all the mineral and trace elements are left to benefit this highly therapeutic mud. After this it is then ready for inclusion in our range of quality products.

Rich in Minerals

In Rotorua, the inner heat of the earth has found its way to the surface bringing with it Rotorua’s earth magic – geothermal mud. Rich in rejuvenating minerals this mud has natural cleansing, antiseptic and rebalancing properties.

The contact that this mud has with volcanic gases and minerals from the centre of the earth is the reason that it is particularly rich in minerals. Ordinary clay and mud contain some minerals but because of its’ volcanic origin, Rotorua Mud is far richer in these properties. Major minerals present in Rotorua Mud include silica, magnesium, calcium, titanium, iron, sulphur, phosphorus, sodium and potassium. In addition, there are also trace elements such as copper, zinc, selenium, cobalt and manganese.

Venom New Zealand

VENZ (Venom New Zealand) have invented a collection device for venom that does not harm any bees. The device consists of a glass sheet that is put on the bottom of the beehive. The glass sheet conducts a gentle electric vibration that encourages the bees to automatically stick out their stingers. At the same time, a small amount of venom is pumped out.
